Announcement

Monday, February 18, 2008

We at MMW have received several emails requesting that we moderate the comments made in response to our posts. We have noted with disgust that few people who have used severely abusive words in commenting. While we do not condone these acts, we would like to allow free expression of opinions.

We understand that people on both sides of a discussion have much to say. Sometimes emotions run high and language is allowed to deteriorate. We have made a decision that we will be allowing a free hand at commenting at present. We reserve the right to change our stand on this issue at a later time.

It is our request that all individuals who comment on the blog refrain from using foul words. We would appreciate it very much if comments could be made in relation to the post. Kindly self moderate your comments.

hahaha now u guys also wants to restrain others, why? then whats the point of your blog, otherwise also this is a stupid blog, more stupider it will be when u guys can write anything about anyone, and others cannot pass comments, and whatever they feel about it.
wheres the freedom of speach, you
all are always asking for? even some silly ppls who runs this blog cannot provide it, and then you are expecting things from the government and IGMH

visiting this blog after quite somtime

LOL

I must warn you that much of the discord occurring in the comments board is being incited by a very frustrated wannabe doin nursing in australia fr god knows how many years...this particular person is under the impression that a particular group of doctors are actually so jobless that they remain glued to this blog. hehe

MMW we appreciate that you have started to touch on the core issues , such as medical insurance and essential drug list and health infrastructure & management, instead of being pushed around by Maldiveshealth.

Allegations of 'sexual favours' and lustful intent in wanting to examine female patients chest on the part of doctors, seem to indicate a desperation for sexual gratification through such suggestions! This sort of attention seeking behavior is best left ignored.

Laughable that people are sinking to such depths to feed this malice, which they have lit within themselves, for no reason other than pure and simple jealousy.

What a load of 'human-waste, to accuse doctors of sexually assaulting female patients...this is not some war torn hospital in eastern europe! hehe

hats off to the CATS and the many others who are maaning the fort here. Hats off to MMW as well. If you chose to moderate the comments, by citing "foul language" etc then you might as well host your server in china...cos then you can forget about any bilateral discussion that could end productively.

I say ignore the foul comments; many a times they are being planted by those with ulterior motives, so as to force you to moderate.

keep it up MMW. To those who choose to work in Maldives, this still has the potential to be useful.

freedom of speech does not mean passing vulgar comments. if anyone need to express filth pls do it directly with the person instead of doing it hiding infront of the computer.

Anonymous said...

well said last anonymous...we must not let the actions of a few, whether premeditated and however juvenile, deter this group from functioning- and for that comments should not be censored/blocked.

if the public is to receive an unbiased feed, this is essential.

Anonymous said...

It looks like you guys are out of topics, In IGMH nothing is happening nowadays for you guys to report?
If its the only Refferal hospital in the Maldives, surely something or the other must be happening, why dont u sneaky guys, get into ICUs and doctors rooms, and see if something is going on, if not make up something, your blog is getting so boring.

Anonymous said...

I guessed that some democrats are there behind this blog.however now i change my mind.u guys are neither democratic nor u want any thing good.U want to impose only your opinions on others.thats why u cannot digest criticism.remember those living inside glass houses should never throw stones at others.surprise that u forgot this simple rule.shame on u.

Anonymous said...

hehehehehehehe interesting.we saw the crap and all inaccurate information written on others and the operators of the blog were not bothered becos they pretended to be democrats.when comments started flying on niyaf and his desperate cronies u guys started to cry foul and even want to censor the blog.
now its only too obvious who is actually running this blog.everyone knew it before but now it is confirmed.so much for your cheap little Sherlock Holmes act.

Anonymous said...

E mails asking you to moderate.
My foot. All wild imagination. After all this is no bloody Washington Post. This is infact a cheap blog written by some desperately cheap wannabes who are good for nothing except sulk and spread hatred and also bring disrepute to the institute where they are working.now the dictators inside u are comming out for every one to see . good go on and censor the blog:)

u guys suck when i first read this blog..now you guys REALLY suck!!!

tell u one thing ure good at rather!!..ure good at cooking up inaccurate stories about doctors and making sure nurses find doctors their worst enemy...and passing personal remarks to people in health industry...i bet ure at a loss for "Secret Seven" mystery solving stories this time n thats y u had to print this crap this time..

Guyz pls....Lets act more mature.

MMW reserves the right to publish, whatever content they feel appropriate. We reserve the right as viewers, and as the target(as is the case inevitably)to respond in kind. But not in this manner.

We have pointed out on several occasions the fallacy of the claims MMW has made, whether unintentional or not, and tried to set the record on balance.

We, speaking for doctors(if i may) understand, the grievances of MMW and the source(s) of it malice; but this is often the result of a breakdown in the communication process between the involved parties and a failure to hold any merit to anything a Maldivian doctor says. This combined with IGMH "gossip" & 'speculation' and the publics frustration with the Kafkaesque Bureaucracy that can be the igmh management, makes fertile ground for personal attacks on individuals doctors and in general.

Let not the actions of a few 'planted' comments deter us from what we are trying to do here. To set the record straight. To educate the public. To ensure some sort of oversight- however flimsy.

I think MMW needs to not let the demand for juicy gossip drive its tabloid! and I think the watchdogs of this blog need to excercise more restraint. : )

Anonymous said...

Ha! I wont b surprised if mmw themselves were planting these hate comments as an excuse to block comments or moderate it!

Isnt MMW saying in this post that they will NOT moderate! Then why am I seeing such a fuss about freedom of speech and bla bla...

Hi All i luv this blog its doing a good job ,well few months back i attented a meeting of internal medicine, and the doctors had to discuss about closing the door and examining the pts, well some doctors were against it but Yasir/latheef were very much in favour of locking the doors to examine the pts,but senior doctors like bhaghat/sheshan/Ram were against this rule and also nazeem/nadhiya.So i still dont understand why they want to lock doors.

Anonymous said...

last anony, I am imterested to know what is the conslusion of that meeting...

Its not just the matter of locking the door but having the compulsory attendance of another femnale attendant when examining a female patient. Some doctors are know to send out the clinical assistant when examining some special patients...

What ever we might say , we cannot deny sexual abuse by doctors. There are so many stories and personal accounts against specific doctors. All of them cant be wrong, there is no smoke without fire and this is not generalizing cause they are not against everyone.

Most of the stories are against the senior older doctors.... know who I mean....none mentioned in the last anony's comment.....

Anonymous said...

Again instead of leaving to the deoctors why cant the healh ministry have some rules and regulations regarding the examination of female patients applicable all over the Maldives.

Are we waiting for some really nasty scandal to break open and some doctors to get beaten becasue of accusations before we act. Whether true or false why give oppurtunity for such accusations....

Virion

Anonymous said...

Well then finally it was decided that yasir/latheef will lock their doors and others wont they left the matter to individual doctors. But Doctors who have worked in other countries other then maldives were against this locking the door .

Anonymous said...

it appears the sexual intent of doctors have becom juicy enuff to warrent further gossiping!

First of all the door is locked most of the time on the request of the patient! If the CAT is sent out, then also it is because the patient requests privacy!

closing the door & locking it is in the interest of patient privacy and confidentiality. our patients are famous for openin door in consultation room without even knocking!

whr thrz smok-thrs fire....whr thrz intent thrz also lying!

Many a times patients refuse to derobe citing it as unnecessary, as havin concluded based on their extensiv medical knowledge. They expect doctors to do an infra red scan lik superman and diagnose for them!

bottomline is door should be locked if patient asks for it or if privacy cannot be ensured within the space of the room without outsiders barging their nosy heads in!and if patient is not comfortable with a clinical asistant(esp a female patient and a male cat)then this should be taken into consideration and possibly a nurse requested to be presented, so that the doctors ass dsnt catch fire later in a blog lik this.

what next?...pedophilia among pediatricians?...tribadism among gynecologists?...

Anonymous said...

lol, the last anonymous, You have a point there, otherwise also, doctors arent desperate enough to see a human body, Its more like seeing a wall, they know whats there inside to outside, with all the bloodvessels and edipose tissues, only a very extreme case of a sexual pervert may do something, which is not possible in our OPDs, and ALi and Yasir doesnt look like perverts like that, they have been practicing for a long time. A normal guy may get excited, and his heart beat rocketing high up to an AF, when they see a cleavage, it doesnt happen so with doctors. Dont think of perverted thoughts, to see a doctor auscultating a pt, it is necessary to listen to the heart sounds, before prescribing drugs and during examinations.. for that, sometimes stetho may have to be put below the breast also, apex of heart lies there, so the guy who is looking at this will think, oh what he is doing.. lifting her breasts, but for the doctor he didnt even think he is doing that, he is just thinking of the apex of heart.. what pervert minds our ppl have. No need for u ppl to come and show to doctors... Go to Mavaa Muhammad Manik thats better

Anonymous said...

i agree with the last two anony..we are not interested in seeing or feeling up people. so next time we do a per rectal examination are we beign gay? someone who examines the testis is feeling for his pleasure? if it is to be said we err on the other side in not examining fully.. ie exposing fully as our medical exam textbooks say.. for the sake of privacy since male' is such a small space we keep on bumping into our patients at every road corner. we prefer not to expose unless absolutely necessary although basic medical examination we would be failed for not exposing ... i say today on internet much better stuff to see lol

Anonymous said...

" A normal guy may get excited, and his heart beat rocketing high up to an AF, when they see a cleavage, it doesnt happen so with doctors." So doctors are normal are they?

As I said I am not blaming all doctors in general, only a few who do it. And I can point out specific incidences like deliberately rubbing your crotch against the lady on the examination table repeatedly. I fail to see the relevant of this particular clinical examination and how you could faul by not doing it.

Whats wrong in having a female attendant when seeing a female patient. This is the practice in many countries.

This is also a cire issue. Its central to the lady who is being abused. And can be rectified immeidately. All you need is a female attendandt. I fail to understand why you are opposing this. Dont medical teaching tell you to serach for curable conditions first.

As doctors you must try to stop any misdeeds rather then being one nad trying to protect the offender, then and then only you will improve as a body.

Anonymous said...

Last anon; definably you in that what you said dsnt make sense, and as usual you didnt read what we wrote! lol

Afemale attendent should be there....but in many cases the patient dsn not want a second person seeing her privates- for her the doctor alone is an embarrasment enuff; thats y many a times the patient requests that only the doc be present!

In case of male CATS, females patients may again feel uncomfortable, so they may ned to wait outside....and locking the door is also in the interests of ensuring due privacy to the patient.....and 'feeling up the patient' is a load of bull, as usual....

and ""Dont medical teaching tell you to serach for curable conditions first"" ??? do u know what you are talking about?....how do you judge whether or not a condition is curable or even whether or not a condition is present WITHOUT examining a patient...even a basic examination template include PICCLE- chekin for palor icterus cyanosis clubbing genralised lymphadenopathy and odema.....can we check for generalised lymphadenopathy without touching the patient or feeling up all the crevices in the patient??...do u know wot ur talkin about??...in case of EVERY female patient it is part of BASIC GENERAL examination as far as protocol is concerned, to do breast examination IRRESPECTIVE of the complaits the patient presents with and based on the doctors judgement of its necessity!!...do u know wot u are talkin about last anonymous??

Anonymous said...

sorry u missed my point. When i said curable condition i didnt mean a medical condition. that was just a metaphor. what io menat was this sllegation of sexual abuse could be stopped easily with afemale attendant.

Instead we keep on talking about bigger things about medical insuranec which is going to take time ...

regarding last few comments;

The female attendant doesnt have to be next to the doctor looking at what the doc is looking. She can be in the room on this side of the screen so that the patient get asssured that if needed she can always ask for help. this will deter the doc from any mischief.

This works in other countruies and I fail to see why our doctors are so agaisnt it. I would be certainly more comfortable if help is nearby when a stranger is palpating me even of he is doing its in a prifessional manner....

If other countries have rules regarding examining female attendant there must be a good reason, and we have to accept that.

It cant be that in all other countries the docs are perverts and in Maldives they are washed in hudhu kaafoor

Try to be more understanding and get over the notion "I am right" "The doc is infallible". Even docs make mistakes and you have to accept that. The days when we worshipped docs are over. They are just normal human beings with the same weakness'.

And if "doctors arent desperate enough to see a human body, Its more like seeing a wall, they know whats there inside to outside, with all the bloodvessels and edipose tissues," I wonder why they get married at all?

I am sure when a doc sees a beautiful girl he sees beauty and not just blood vessels and adipose tissues. You docs out there, correct me if I am wrong. Even Monks and Priests get feelings, casue they are human, whatever their resolve. What make you doctors so different and so high and mightyand above human nature?

Anonymous said...

who says docs are high and might?...ths is the problem...you people have an inferiority complex.

I didnt know doctors were refusing female attendants being present when a female patient is being examined.

First of all the door is locked most of the time on the request of the patient! If the CAT is sent out, then also it is because the patient requests privacy!

closing the door & locking it is in the interest of patient privacy and confidentiality. our patients are famous for openin door in consultation room without even knocking!

Looks like you just wanted to say what you wanted to say, nevermind what has already been said here.

As for doctors gettin married. Whats that got to do with anything?...humans get married, yes. whether doctors or shopkeepers or nurses or fisherman. Thats what we also said- it is of no relevance whether or not a doctor notices a female patients figure, as long as he dsnt abuse that freedom and adheres to the strictest professionalism! So wots ur point?...you want us to admit whether or not we get hard on when a beautiful patient comes in?....the answer is its none of your business. But to frank with you- NO when we are examining such things are not the preoccupant of our thoughts. YOU on the other hand may wonder, us all being humans, why we are not turned on! lol....but some of us actually are able to control our urges in the work place like any sane human being.

Allegations of sexual misconduct if they occur, is not exclusive to doctors. try something else...

Anonymous said...

For doctors, patients are patients, however beautiful they are. They are not objects of desire.

Dont exercise your dirty minds on the pure doctor patient relationship, and dont malign it. Thanks

http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/8.30/helthrpt/stories/s1068270.htm

Ref above site and many other sites:

"10% of practicing clinicians, psychiatrists and other branches of medicine, will at some stage in their career, break a boundary and have sexual relationships with patients"

So much for doctor patient relationhip. for odctors who see their patients as just patients....

I am not saying that all doctors are bad, but some of them are. 10% as per above article. some studies quote 20%. So why give them a chance.

Not everyone in the society are robbers. But some are. That why we keep our doors locked incase someone gets tempted.

Same for doctors. After all they are humans, why tempt them?

For the anony defending the docs, I guess he is right, his assumption is right and the above studeis and all the research is wrong.

You are a typical doctor. You know there are studies proving that a doc is less likely to accept that he is worng or that he doesnt know.

For all readers please read the following articel, its very enlightening

http://www.mja.com.au/public/issues/181_07_041004/gal10557_fm.html

excerpts:

In overseas surveys, 3%–10% of doctors admit to a sexual relationship with a patient....

It is likely these represent a small proportion of cases. Patients who have been sexually exploited are often reluctant to complain, because of feelings of guilt and shame, fear they will not be believed, and, sometimes, continuing concern for the doctor. Complaining to a medical board and participating in the investigation and legal proceedings is very stressful. Further, as these offences occur in private, proof is often lacking.

Anonymous said...

hehe "have sexual relationships with patients" does not imply feeling up the patient in the examination room!!

it means patients and doctors do hook up, if they meet at a consultation and fall trap to physical attraction or even more- they may end up marrying also!

What is being said here is violating a patients without his/her consent DURING the process of examination or consultation!!

Lets not play stupid shall we?...

Exactly doctors are no different from any other human being...but IGMH doctors having tendency to abuse their power to oogle at patients bossoms or feel up their fannies for getting a kick out of it, is ABSURD!!!

Doctors should have a female attendent when examining, there is no debate on this- unfortunately for you. What was stated previusly and to which we responded was to the questions of LOCKING doors. To that i hate repeating myself again.

Also what about the possibility of the doctor and the female attendent being in on a sexual-escapade-fantasy-conspiracy and attempting to engage with the patient in a threesom???? I think we must have security cameras also in the consultation room!! don't you think so too? lol

Anonymous said...

HAHAHAHA ilmao

yeh, this study you have been so kind to share with us implies illicit sexual relationships some doctors end up having with their patients- THIS IMPLIES THAT IT IS WITH CONSENT!!!

Wot u pepl are talkin abt here is us abusing our doctor privileges to play wit patients privates under the pretext of examining her/HIM ru not?

So ur STudY dsnt apply am afraid!

Ahh u people...the fantasies you all hav wen u think about wot goes on in the examination room! hahah...this is what reading too many sex stories does to you...

Don drag us docs into ur wild dreams...som of us actually tak our job seriously...its not lik we don get dates out of work!

Anonymous said...

well docs I suggest that u devise a breast shield for all females in case u touch it while auscultating.
now the base line and the reality is some of our female patients get carried away on seeing a male doc( not Sheshan, Bhagat, or Ram offcoarse,,,reason why they dont care if the door is open or not)and have such suggestive behaviour and if the doctor acts professionally and ignores this , they go out and spread rumours. There have been cases when some very good looking young doctors were unable to practise in some of the islands because the amount of sexual pressure and abuse like some females trying to kiss them even groping their crotch. So much for the good behaviour of our female patients but offcoarse the great majority will be sane, sensible, dignified and well mannered.

Anonymous said...

lmao

Anonymous said...

To the last anony:

I am sorry I brought this up. You have made your point clear.

Doctors in IGMH are above all this. They will not under any circumstances abuse the patients sexually or otherwise.

I am sorry I wasted so much of the blog space and the readers time on highlighting a non entity.

My apologies and hats off to maldivian doctors.

So what if he starts groping your chest when you went for that head ache. As someone said that there a few cardiac causes of headache which can be diagnosed this way...

For those who still have doubt leaving their wives with a male doctor in a locked room: well it just shows lack of faith in your wife and anyway you are always free to go abroad to countries where they are safety checks against these things.

In Maldives we dont need safety checks cause our doctors are above these things.

Goodluck

Anonymous said...

Your apology accepted...BUT NO ur worng- if you go abroad or to any other hospital, then your wife wont get sexually abused!!! ONLY IGMH mind you, this will happen, ONLY in igmh....so yes, take your wife abroad to private hospitals where only eunuchs are thr to treat patients!(Just lik you do now also wenever she gets a headache, to Bnkk and spend like anything to diagnose a migraine, if we advise an MRI then its jus us wanting to eat your money up, buut tats nother story)

so, whr were we?...o yes!...ONLY IN IGMH you get doctors who grope your wives!!...

And yeah, headache is no reason to auscultate the chest!!! YOu know better than IGMH doctors- you must all teach us in medical colleges the wonderous methods of diagnosis without touching the patients.....Thrs no other solution to this jealosy & paranoia som husbands feel wen a doc examines their wife/husband!!

u kno wot they say rite..ask a silly Q..n...

Anonymous said...

Dear Leprechauns & weasels out thr- please find some other ways to widen the schism between doctors in igmh and their patients.

Sadly for your whimsical plots against us, we didn't get to medical school without knowing how to read or write.

To those patients who trust us and care about our medical opinions and enjoy a healthy trust between ourselves, you have our whole hearted dedication at your disposal.

Anonymous said...

If you read carefully I said groping. I know the difference between inspection, palpation and ausccultation whihc is not the smae as groping

I said in other countries there are safety checks. Like in Sri Lanka and Inida you cannot examine a female without the presnce of a female attendant.

they have identified a problem or a potential problem.

If for a minute we beleive that there is no abuse in Maldives, we must agree that there is potential for abuse and take corrective actions before a nasty scandel. Should all our actions be dictated by scandels????

The fact that there was a meeting in IGMH regarding the locking of door means some sensible have thought of this in some way.

Lets get some procedural laws on patient examination in place....

Anonymous said...

its like your reading my mind...as if you were right in the nest room hehe

Lets not get evasive shall we?...I also never said a female attendant should NOT be there! As in any other country this is a must. What is debtable is having to ask the male or female clinical attendent to wait outside depending on the sex of the patient and the patient wishing that the door be locked for his/her own privacy!! It si therefore better if a nurse if present as a female attendent since patients seem more comfortable with them.

Meetings are held to discuss this paranoia certain members of public have and to address the counter measures necessary to ensure that no such unprofessional behaviour occurs on the part of the doctor OR the patient! Meetings are held to discuss all eventualities; to have contigencies in place.

This does not mean all doctor in igmh or majority are having a sexual dis-gratification crisis..

You appear to be contradicting yourself...hehe

Some people have this 'disease' inside themselves which no medicine can cure...they are born that way..introverts who think the unthinkable of others however sincere and good willed others maybe.

Anonymous said...

Get over this arrogance and have the balls to accept things said by others when they are right..

it appears not only patients have an inferiority complex dho

Anonymous said...

Looks like finally all the hidden dirt bottled up inside is spilling over here eh...predictable

Yeah som doctors do have an inferiority complex against other doctors! For no reason wotsoever!

Anonymous said...

lol "i see you" said Sauron

Anonymous said...

I am talking about a few doctors and a few incidences based on first hand accounts. But I am too professional to malign them here withiut proof.

But this convinced me of the potential danger of sexual abuse by doctors.

So if you agree that female attendant is required why not strive to put that into some form of regulation so that there will be uniformity from IGMH to ADK to Point to Imperial to regional hospitals etc.

I am sure we should agree on this atleast. And thanks for such prompt replies. But you should reallly go to sleep. ther will be patients to see in the morning lol

Sexual abuse is more prominent with those who wear long beards and and who show to others that they don't shake hands with women. Once with a patient behind close doors, their hands are all over the patients, ehem everywhere.

Well If a doctor is alone with a pt and the pt is not very ill and is beautiful and he is examining her then shaitan will enter his brains becuz he is all alone and islam also does not allow this, better some female relative be present with the pt,even in countries like the uk and usa u have to have some one with u when u examine the pt and for heaven sake this is islamic country, well even male doctors have sexual desires, just by becoming a doctor does not mean they are pure at heart, well even some of our prophets were tempted by devil,MBBS/MD DOES not give u immunity from devil SO MY FREINDS STOP this bullshit and just follow international rules,And as FOR latheef and yasir if they are impotent and are not men then the can close the doors .

yeah yasir and ali latheef are not impotent but from the rumours going around in IGMH they infact have above average prostates.so there is no question of keeping the doors closed unless offcoarse there is some ulterior motive.

virionx says:

hey lets not get personnel here

we have identified a problem, that of the presence of a female attendant when examining female patients. I think all the comments agree on this

This is an easily rectifiable problem. So lets us all strive hard in our respective fields to make this a law. You doctors can do it if you want. Insist on this. This will save you from lots of unwarranted accusations and ofcourse temptations...

I guess there would be objections from private clinics where this might involve some additional expense.....

hmmm cant help commenting.. seems like someone trying to catch the tail in the mouth.. going round n round n not getting it.as far as i know docs havent come up with placards saying " WE WILL KEEP DOOR LOCKED WHATEVER MAY COME" and havent gone to the streets with it.. so why make this big fuss.. as far as i know most of times docs arent alone unless patient asks. if a doc asks then patient can refuse or say she will be more comfortable with another female around. we never say maldivian docs are impotent. in any place there will be perverts.any time a doc asked the husband to leave??? pls clarify.hey and considering so many statistics quoted here i read one in three maldivian women are abused... so is everyone married to doctors? or are the docs running around abusing. can any one tell me the statistics for lawyesr having relations? is the security guard as airport groping or just doing job.. oops i forgot this is a bloog abt only maligning docs.

MODERN DAY SECURITY GUARDS AT AIRPORT DO NOT TOUCH PASSENGERS, NEITHER IS A LAWER EXPECTED TO TOUCH HIS CLIENT, UNLIKE A DOCTOR WHO IS EXPECTED TO....

Well now i know why latheef was after a medical ward nurse because his wife just had a baby and this poor guy might be starving so he is after 23 yr olds, and he is even having dog fights with other doctor whose girlfreind she is. So sad for their wives, the young doctor from abroad is the new casinova in maldives. For this guy a young maldivain doctor married with a kid dumped her husband and went to him ,he has five gf any given time from all parts of the world,he even is quite popular among the european girls in maldives who work here ,and the other one is a local and had a gf when he was a clinical assitant she is now in kenya and his present wife he married because her father is a influential guy,so this guy can boast about it the chief of medicine.

the above anany do not make sence.

Anyway I know Dr Latheef personally and he is unlikely to be a womaniser.... If girls fall over him he cannot help it lol

the style of this comment is so characteristic of the style of ali latheef in some of his vitriolic talks:) anyway if u dont get satisfaction at home then u tend to get sidekicks and this is not at all common:)

Anonymous said...

sorry guys . small correction."'this is not at all uncommon""

Anonymous said...

well guys beware.times have changed.now good looking young males can be at the receiving end too especially when we have elgible young spinster docs like Nadia who have a vv soft corner for young studs:)apparently all this started just after a very accidential"initialization ceremony'' she received in pakistan on arrival as a fresh undergraduate.:)this incidence made her long for more and more and more. so young good looking guys beware.

Anonymous said...

yeah all knows dr nadiyas huge appetite for guys, but then atleast she isnt feeling up boobs.

Anonymous said...

omg...look at us all here- so at home , so happy, now that we have an avenue to pi$$ on doctors...what a beautiful gathering point for you all, to shag and talk filth about doctors...its the closest you get to being one!

and to add flavor- mix it all up with fantastic sex stories of docs...I feel sorry for you all...makes you wish you had listened to your parents when they asked you to take studies seriously huh! then you wudnt hav had to imgaine what all happens in the examination room between the doc and patient....haha

Anonymous said...

Guys lets not get personal. Dr Nadia is a very dedicated doctor. And the docs deserve better than this.

We shouldnt generalize, this is not achieving anything other than satisfying some rouge frustrated elements. Lets make this site constructive and readable isntead of filth.

And if one writes about docs short comings it necessarily doesnt mean that ones jealous of them...

Being a doc initself is prestigious but I think doctors should come to level ground. They are after all human beings no matter what their achievments.

What we notice is doctors are always throwing complex words and talking about their achievments and others being jelous of them.

Please exercise some humility. If you really know medicne you would be humbled by how little you know about the human body lol

Hmm I doubt if doctors humility has much to do with many patients attitudes towards doctors- which often is the exact opposite of humility! Respect is a two way street; if patients want to reduce doctors to the level of road side dustbin, then forgive us for not having the humility to put up with it.

And i think that it is imp that people not be judged depending on the level of vocabulary they have- this applies to those with less as well as to those with more words in their respective thesauruses.

It is a startling revelation that we in this society feel intimidated by what we perceive to be lesser or greater people than us. We are all judged by our own actions, not by others.
And while no doctor, no human is perfect- certainly aspiring to achieve and working towards that goal does not make one the arrogant one.
It is only those who believe in a pecking order, who will stay confined by it.

To last anany:

Doctors attitude has got everything to do with patients attitude towrads them.

Doctors feel they are doing a patient a favour when in fact the patient is doing them a favour in placing trust in them and giving them a chance to advance the doctors knowledge through his body: the ultimate sacrifice

A doc who cannot communicate well and who canot talk nicely to the patient has got no business being a doctor. Become a VET instead.

I would like to draw your attentiuon to a quote by Mahatma Ghandhi which had since been adopted by a Bombay hospital as their motto:

"A patient is the most important person in our Hospital. He is not an interruption to our work, he is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider in our Hospital, he is a part of it. We are not doing a favour by serving him, he is doing us a favour by giving us an opportunity to do so."

I suggest you following on that motto and see the change in your patients attitude.

You're making this personal eyy...how do you know my attitude towards patients??..I am not advocating the belittling of patients here. I'm saying there is a reason doctors are lashing out here. Im not saying some doctors need to change their attitudes. Im saying some patients need to change their attitudes also. Im saying just as no doctor is exempt from individual responsibility so is the patient.
The patient maybe doing us a favor by letting us treat them , but we will certainly not put up with the harassment and bullying that docs in igmh are being subjected to just coz they have had to wait in line for a consultation, or because they were not assured immediate cure, or because hey hospital did not bear the cost of treatment, or because the doctor did not give medical opinion to spend the patient abroad on gov welfare for trivial reason or because the patient presented with inevitable complications consequent to neglect on the part of the sick patient etc.
If you think patients who come to igmh are rudy and impolite to doctors because doctors themselves are not humble enough, AND if you think doctors coming to work dressed as the mahatma and treating them with kind words is what is lacking on the part of doctors and this is THE reason for all the malice that igmh is up against, Im quite certain you have not worked in igmh yet.
We shall see how far you get with nice words when you tell a parent whose child has succumbed to DHS arising from dengue fever, that despite your best efforts the child died and that there was nothing else you could do. We shall see whether your kind words of compassion get you anywhere with the grieved maldivian parent- who will not hesitate then in lashing out against you, that it was your neglect and your fault that his/her child died.

I think your attempt to side with patients is premature, if you think you will be spared the full force of rowdy majority maldivian patients in igmh once you get there.hehe

classic two faced back stabbing behaviour dho...atleast have the balls to say it to my face!

NOBODY IS SAYING PATIENTS SHOULD BE TREATED THE WAY THEY ARE IN NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES!!! hehe...that is not the issue in maldives- its the other way round. Patients in maldives treat doctors the same way doctors treat patients in india or Sri Lanka hehe....adhi olhigen thiulhenee!

There are som docs in maldives who think quite highly of themselves, hehe, but majority are quite dedicated to their work and care for patients- the problem is our public will never be satisfied with the service we provide- unless and until we upgrade igmh to the level of appollo or KIMS and provide the same level of technologically sophisticated service FREE OF COST...heheh i think my friend you wanting so badly to hide behind patients, is what is going to get you trampled by them in their stampede.
I wish i was as naive as you to invest such good faith o the rowdy crowd which comes to igmh everyday(not withstanding the good patients ofcos)

Anonymous said...

Clearly we need to look both ways before we rant....no?

Unfortunately we Maldivians have a mob mentality, we are the same ones who slaughtered our first president over a triviality, are we not?...I have seen the ruckus some patients create inside the hospital because they've head to wait in line to consult the doctor...I've seen people attacking the security guards over visiting rights against hospital policy...I've seen people making disturbances because the doctor does not give definitive assurance that a patient will be ok, instead of the prognosis being explained to them....I've seen many a times..

Ultimately, as someone has said here, the problem is of management...NOT JUST OF SOME DOCTORS NOT BEING HUMBLE ENOUGH...the problem is of managing an unruly population of patients(not withstanding the good Samaritan patients), in a hospital that is struggling to cope with an influx of patients from all corners of the country.

For the people to be happy,IGMH needs to develop a persona like that of private hospitals abroad, with all the elaborate investigative techniques and sophisticated equipment, AND all these needs to be available free of charge, and doctors working for a measly pay(compared to other countries)need to do slave labor 24-7 without so much as a brake.

then we wnt hv this problem..

the doctors need to stop dressing smart, they need to stop talking smart, they need to stop having AC in their consultation room etc....decades of living like zombies under one regime has made us soulless & this repulsion we have to authority or heirachy has become inbuilt into our mentality...A Mob mentality.

mihaaru eba visneytha?...the problem is not so simple as some doctor not being humble enough..Yes, i agree some doctors need to change their attitudes; But so do many patients.During the short period I was in Igmh not once have I seen a doctor talk rudely to a patient, some may appear a bit self-centered, but certainly not rude or apathetic, But I have seen MANY MANY occasions when patients have created trouble for really no fault on the part of the doctor, as much as with the system and management per se.

hehe I think this statement made by somebody has been central to the discussion going on in this comments board; apparently this was all that was needed to smoke some people out of their caves!..that and 'complex words'

If anybody wants to constructively engage in the discussions here, then please do so,but do not think other people could be insulted quietly and they won't notice it.

Well, for all the patients, and relatives, they must know one thing, ur doctor is right. He is the one who was intelligent enough to become a doctor, and studied the field of medicine, so u dont have to mess with his judgment with u and ur half baked relatives, inadequate knowledge in the field of medicine. so all the MALDIVIANS accept it, u all cant become doctors, and those who are doctors, they are really lucky. May Allah bless all the docttors, and all men kind too, Ameen.

And those who are jealous.. STAY Jealous.. Who cares? bark and bark.. and keep barking..Nothings gonna happen.. heheh
Doctors are great, and they will be great... cheers

Anonymous said...

Somebody really needs to get over this infatuation with doctors being "great"...

Maldivians need to learn to heed doctors MEDICAL ADVICE seriously, not because they are GREAT, But because that's what they are there for, thats what they have trained for!!!!

Not that the rest of 'mankind' is inferior to them hehe...but because they should be allowed to perform their Job- treating and affording medical services to the public- WHO ARE NOT DOCTORS....SO, its not a question of "GREAT" or "HIGH & MIGHTY" heheh

I was telling my sis about Dr. Nadhiya, she told me Nadhiya did get raped in Pakistan by some Pakistani studs, why dont you all make one article about it. After all this blog is to show doctors they are not great at all.

Anonymous said...

great or not anyone can get raped but the question is whether it was real or staged:)

Anonymous said...

I dont think this blog is to show doctors they are not great.

Rather it is to show short comings in our health system and for striving to make it better. It people with these wrong notions who get personel on issues not really concerned with the health system of maldives

anyway if that is how you get your kicks how can anyone help.... Even doctors cant help you

as long as v are talking about doctors and providing privacy for the patients...

has anyone thought about what the gyn dept has about privacy..

well they do not allow the husbands to be with their patient when they examine them be it a male doc or a female doc..

as the patients who has had SVD's... the next day the docs come and do the round and throw the relatives and the husband out.. than they expose the patient and peek at the inscision..

ask anyone and they will confirm this..

i know some relatives and husbands are really not tollerable.. but why can't they just stand near the head end of the pt when they are examining her? specially if it's a male doc?

so the prob is not only with internal medicine.. it's also with obs/gyn department too...

Raping is one issue, which is always kept in the family. We should let it be out, and the culprits should be punished rather than hiding it in families, and within one self.
